You are currently on a plan, but you expect a spike in usage up to worth of usage for the next 9 months. You can get a recurring add-on to your current tier, thereby creating a custom tier for the required timeline.
Subscription pricing guidelines
- If the total usage exceeds the selected tier, you'll need to move to the next tier. Notifications will be sent once you reach 50% and 80% of your defined quota so that you stay informed.
- If you choose not to move to the next tier, once you reach these limits, your application calls will fail for the rest of the month. Your usage counter will reset at the end of the month with no rollovers to the subsequent month.
- The component usage mentioned above in each row is if the entire value of the plan were to be utilized for the single mentioned component only. The usage levels would vary in cases where multiple components are used.
- The minimum fee per project charged in the pay-as-you-go plan is not applied to subscription plans.
- You can choose to revert to a pay-as-you-go plan in the subsequent billing cycle.
- Unused amount does not carry forward to the next month.

What is the Free Tier?
The Catalyst Free Tier provides more than 70 components for free. The free tier limit is applied at an account level (across all projects in an account) every month. For instance, if you create 20 projects in an account, the Free Tier is applied across all of the projects in the account. The free tier works perfectly for hobby projects, and to get started with exploring Catalyst.
If I don't exceed the Free Tier, how much will I be charged?
You won't be charged anything unless you cross the free tier.
What if I exceed the Free Tier for one component or service only?
If the free tier has been exceeded, then the excess calls are chargeable according to the pricing plan selected. For example, if 5,000 Data Store insert row requests are offered for free and the monthly usage is 10,000 row inserts, then the user has to pay for the 5,000 insert row operations in excess of the free tier.
What happens when I cross the free tier and have valid credits from the free trial?
The invoice value is subtracted from the valid wallet credits that are provided as a part of the free trial.

Does the free trial exist for 6 months, or until the is exhausted?
The free trial is valid for 6 months or till you consume whichever is earlier.
What happens if I exhaust the Free Trial before 6 months?
Invoicing starts from the next month once your wallet credits have been exhausted. You are invoiced over and above the amount adjusted against credits.
What happens if I don’t use my wallet credits in 6 months?
The wallet credits expire in 6 months, and cannot be claimed after.
Pay-as-you-go
What is pay-as-you-go pricing model?
Catalyst offers a usage based pricing model. This means that you just have to pay for what you use. Moreover, if you don't use Catalyst in a month, you don't have to pay for it. If a project exceeds the free tier limits in an account, a minimum billing of will apply to cover backend provisioning and management. To avoid incurring this minimum charge, we recommend deleting unused projects.

In what currency does the invoicing happen?
The invoicing happens in the currency that is attached to the credit card on file.
When can I change my payment plan?
You can switch between payment plans at any point of time. The new payment plan would be applied from the subsequent billing cycle.
Are my credit card details added on signup?
No, the credit card details are required only after the free trial has been exhausted.
How can I ensure that I don't exceed my monthly budget with Catalyst?
Catalyst budget alerts can ensure that you always remain within your budget limits. You can choose to cut off availability to the app, or continue serving the app on the pay-per-use plan.
