Free Tier
1. What is the Free Tier?
The Catalyst Free Tier provides more than 70 components for free. The free tier limit is applied at an account level (across all projects in an account) every month. For instance, if you create 20 projects in an account, the Free Tier is applied across all of the projects in the account. The free tier works perfectly for hobby projects, and to get started with exploring Catalyst.
2. If I don't exceed the Free Tier, how much will I be charged?
You won't be charged anything unless you cross the free tier.
3. What if I exceed the Free Tier for one component or service only?
If the free tier has been exceeded, then the excess calls are chargeable according to the pricing plan selected. For example, if 10,000 conversations in ConvoKraft are offered for free and the monthly usage is 15,000 conversations, then the user has to pay for the 5,000 conversations in excess of the free tier.
4. What happens when I cross the free tier and have valid credits from the free trial?
The invoice value is subtracted from the valid wallet credits that are provided as a part of the free trial.
Free Trial
1. Does the free trial exist for 6 months, or until the is exhausted?
The free trial is valid for 6 months. If the provided in the free tier is exhausted before 6 months, then the user is charged from the month after.
2. What happens if I exhaust the Free Trial before 6 months?
Invoicing starts from the next month once your wallet credits have been exhausted.
3. What happens if I don’t use my wallet credits in 6 months?
The wallet credits expire in 6 months, and cannot be claimed after.
Pay Per Use
1. What is pay per use pricing model?
Catalyst follows a usage based pricing model. This means that you just have to pay for what you use. Moreover, if you don't use Catalyst in a month, you don't have to pay for it. Starting January 1, 2023, if a project exceeds the free tier limits in an account, a minimum billing of will apply to cover backend provisioning and management. To avoid incurring this minimum charge, we recommend deleting unused projects.

The invoicing happens in the currency that is attached to the credit card on file.

No, the credit card details are required only after the free trial has been exhausted.

Catalyst budget alerts can ensure that you always remain within your budget limits. You can choose to cut off availability to the app, or continue serving the app on the pay-per-use plan.
