< How to participate />

The hackathon will happen in three Phases: Ideation, Development and Virtual Presentation.

    Phase 1: Ideation

    Fill out the registration form and tell us about your idea and your app. If we like your vision, our team will reach out to you on or before August 31, 2022 to get you started.

    Phase 2: Development

    If your idea is short-listed, congratulations—start building now!

    Step 1: Sign up for Catalyst. It’s free!

    Step 2: Access console.catalyst.zoho.com to set up your first project. Unsure of how to get started? Install Catalyst CLI and follow along with your favourite tutorial, or join our bootcamp.

    Phase 3: Virtual presentation

    The finalists will be invited to present their prototype to a live virtual panel consisting of leaders from serverless to various product verticals (to be announced soon).

  • Registration

    Register individually or as a team and submit the innovation you hope to give life to here.

  • Product Walkthrough

    You'll be invited to attend Catalyst product demos, webinars, and bootcamps to get a better grasp of the product. Watch this space for upcoming sessions. You'll also receive email communications regarding these sessions.

  • Development

    Start shaping your ideas. While you’re at it, we’ll ensure the support team is available to offer guidance. We’ll also host AMA sessions with product experts to get all your queries answered.

  • Virtual presentation

    Present your app to our panel of industry leaders and enjoy the spotlight!

  • Results

    The results will be announced within two weeks of the virtual event. The winners will be contacted personally by our team.

I'm new to Catalyst and am learning to use the platform. Can I still participate?

Yes, you sure can. Join our upcoming webinars and bootcamps to learn the platform with ease. Feel free to reach out to us at hackathon@zohocatalyst.com if you're stuck at any point and our support team will be glad to help.

Is there an entry fee?

There is no entry free. Anyone with an internet connection and the zeal to code can participate.

What programming language should be used?

Java or Node.js can be used to build your applications.

Who will be judging the hackathon?

The panel will consist of judges from Zoho, and possibly from other institutions.

Are there any specific qualifications required to participate in the hackathon?

No, if you love to code and are willing to learn, you're more than welcome to participate.

How do I submit my app?

You will be shared an app submission form by email if you are short-listed for Phase 2 - Development. It will require you to upload your code to GitHub and share the repository details, along with a demo video and detailed documentation on how to run the application.

What if my idea is only partially working?

We expect your app to work according to your submitted concept. However, if you are almost there and the app is still functional, we'll still consider it.

Are there any restrictions on the usage of pre-built libraries?

No, there are no restrictions on the use of tech stacks or libraries. The usage should be clearly mentioned in the documentation.

Do I need to submit a product/app demo?

Yes, it will be helpful to evaluate your submission.

Will I lose the IP (intellectual property) rights of my app if I submit it for the hackathon?

No, you'll always hold the IP rights to your app and will be duly credited for it every time Catalyst mentions it anywhere on or off the internet.
